BTS's Jungkook's official World Cup soundtrack 'Dreamers' has claimed the 'K-Pop Top 1' spot on Kuwait Radio, proving its overwhelming popularity in the Middle East.
Recently, 'Marina FM', Kuwait's first radio station under Middle Eastern 'Marina TV', announced the 'K-Pop Top 3' through its official account.
According to the results of 'Marina FM's 'K-Pop Top 3', BTS Jungkook's '2022 FIFA Qatar World Cup' official soundtrack 'Dreamers' took the first place, receiving full-scale love and support from fans.
'Dreamers' seized the top spot with a powerful force, boasting an overwhelming vote rate of 59%, more than half of the total votes.
The candidates for the vote included popular songs from representative K-pop groups and singers such as Twice's 'Set Me Free', Seventeen's 'Son Oh Gong (Super)', Jisoo (Blackpink)'s 'Flower', Tomorrow X Together's 'Sugar Rush Ride', Newzins' 'OMG', IVE's 'Kitsch', EXO's 'Going Crazy', and NCT Dream's 'Candy'.
Previously, 'Dreamers' demonstrated its strong popularity by topping the music charts in the Middle East.
'Dreamers' climbed to the top of the popular song weekly chart in Saudi Arabia on 'Spotify', the world's largest music platform, and firmly maintained its top position for 'four consecutive weeks'.
Additionally, on the global music platform 'iTunes', it dominated the top song charts in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Lebanon. On Apple Music, it took the top spot on the Top 100 charts in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Oman.
'Dreamers' also topped the K-pop chart on 'Anghami', the largest music streaming platform in the Arab world, often called the 'Middle Eastern Spotify', and boasted a unique music power, surpassing 1 million streams in just 14 days, the shortest period for any K-pop song to date.
Moreover, since its release, 'Dreamers' has made it into the top 5 on the 'MENA' top 10, the first official chart of the Middle East and North Africa by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), for four consecutive weeks.
In addition, Jungkook was the only K-pop solo artist to make it into the top 10 in the '2022 Top K-Pop Artists' category chosen by 'Anghami'.
In Qatar, it was reported that the 'K-ONE Festival in Qatar 2023', the first K-pop festival in the country, has been decided to be held.
The concert organizer, Hanaro Event and Mplus Entertainment, said, "Jungkook's performance at the Qatar World Cup, which the world was watching, moved people around the globe, and it made history as the first World Cup song to be number one in over 100 countries on iTunes on the first day of its release," and "We decided to hold the first K-pop festival in Qatar to continue this popularity."
Meanwhile, Jungkook's 'Dreamers' music video and the opening ceremony performance video posted on the official YouTube channel of 'FIFA' (International Federation of Football Association) continue their popular march, surpassing 150 million and 50 million views respectively.
